Day 21: Back to Melbourne

Tuesday, April 15, 2003

We had an early morning, shunning all of the repeatedly eaten food we had on had and ate breakfast at the café. We then drove back to Airlie Beach, reading more of Lord of the Rings along the way. It is a great story and quite a metaphor. I loved the part where they talked about how the time had come to fight out in the open.

We gathered our things together and headed off to the airport where we all took the same flight to Brisbane. We said our goodbyes there, first stopping to take a group photo at the photo sticker place.

Catherine picked us up in Melbourne and we ate dinner with her and Sven at a nice Greek restaurant. Apparently there are many Greek immigrants in Australia. We showed Catherine and Sven a slideshow of the places we'd been and went to bed before too late. It was fun to see Jasper again-quite a bundle of energy. He is especially enthusiastic about playing ball and consequently likes me because I play with him. He is at his cutest when he's sleepy and wants to cuddle.

Cynthia and Jasper. We wish we had more pictures of Catherine and Sven; their house seemed just like home so we forgot to take many pictures there.
