In the spring of 2006 we spent a little more than a week in Costa Rica, with as little time as possible in the city of San Jose. The first part of the trip was to Monteverde, a high cloud forest. There we saw tons of birds (thanks in no small part to our guide, Freddie), and did an amazing nighttime hike. Then we headed Southwest to Corcovado, the remote costal area of Costa Rica where we stayed at a research station. We were rewarded with seeing 4 types of monkeys and had many other adventures, not to mention the trip getting there and back.
